I had some time before Sunday school this morning, so I took some pictures of the house. The only thing I missed was from the roof and I’ll get those in the morning. We recorded a short greeting video for our churches back home and it was time for Sunday school. We had about 40 kids. Emmy led the music and Jessica told the Bible story, with Cheryl interpreting. It was really great. The kids got a little snack and some cool-aid as they left. Then it was time for worship. We had a small crowd this morning, but I God used it. I talked about the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, and even sang the song “Watch the Lamb” with Cheryl interpreting. It was really a great time, with both tears and great joy. Two Senegalese men rededicated their lives this morning. I spoke with them a bit and made sure they understood that salvation is a one time thing. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus once you are saved. Lunch was BBQ chicken ah la David. It was really good. Then we drove to Guereo to see Fatu. She was doing better today, but still a bit confused. She has been bedridden for quite a while and is quite frail. Her arm is only about as thick as two stalks of celery. The words ‘skin and bones’ doesn’t even start to describe her. We visited for a while with her and her parents, prayed, and then headed back here. I use the late afternoon to get a shelf put up in the outdoor kitchen for Emmy, and a shelf in the bathroom above the shower for shampoo. I also put some hooks on it for washcloths. It actually turned out quite well. A bit of packing and back to David & Cheryl’s for potluck leftovers dinner. It was quite good. After we got the dishes washed, it was back here for Bible study. Bible study was great tonight as well. While we waited, I asked if anyone had a Bible question they wanted to ask. It was a good time and I think we got a few things cleared up. Then for Bible study, we did a quick survey of Romans. Basically, the Roman Road verses, with a few extras thrown in. It was a really good time and everyone seemed to understand it all. Then at the end of Bible study, there were some wonderful thank-you’s and they gave me an official Senegalese outfit, with matching shoes, and an outfit for my wife as well. Then they made me try it on and show it off. I had some very small gifts for my Senegalese brothers which they accepted with much grace. It was a very fun time. Finishing the packing, getting this write up done, and preparing to leave tomorrow. We leave here about 10am and spend the day in Dakar. Then to the airport at midnight. That puts me home on Tuesday at noon. Thanks for your prayers! |
